SE Michigan's accelerator network

A regional coalition in Detroit is moving aggressively to strengthen a network business accelerators with a target of $50 million in additional investment. The investment would go to expand four existing accelerators and create two more in the region.

The promoters plan to secure $30 million in federal commitments, $15 million in state commitments; and $15 million from private sources. The funding would be managed through an Accelerator Network. The network will operate without staff, and represents another example of an emerging networked model of regional economic development.
