Regions are increasingly trying to develop indexes to measure their economic transformation. In an earlier post, we saw how San Diego was launching a new index to measure company formation and growth in key technology sectors.
Sacramento has a different type of index, based on a broader definition of prosperity. You can read more about the Sacramento index here. You can view their prosperity index here.

Some Background on EDPro Weblog
The purpose of this weblog is to help economic development professionals -- EDPros -- keep up with the changes sweeping our profession. Strap on your goggles. It's a whole new game. One other point: the prevaling approach (paradigm, if you like) in economic development is shifting from competition to collaboration.
