Call centers shifting overseas

The trend toward shifting call centers overseas is accelerating.

According to a recent survey in Call Center magazine, about 10 million square feet, or roughly 10 percent of existing call center space in the U.S., is now vacant. The remaining 90 million square feet of space is operating at two-thirds capacity. That translates into a loss of 100,000 jobs from a combination of the recession and shifting to overseas vendors in India, the Philippines, and other countries. Learn more.
