New Mexico sharpens its recruitment focus Wednesday, May 21, 2003 During its recently completed legislative session, Arizona revamped its economic development programs. Governor Richardson outlined one of the more ambitious economic development programs in his State of the State address. Now the legislature has delivered. The state is prepared to be a far more aggressive recruiter of technology-based businesses. Recruitment will be led by the newly created New Mexico Economic Development Corporation, and State now has the authority to invest directly into businesses. Read a summary.
