Sustainability is still very much on the edge of economic development...but the trend is growing. For example, last month, the U.S. Conference of Mayors unanimously passed a resolution to support the Kyoto Protocol, the international treaty ratified earlier this year without the United States. Eugene, OR has focused on sustainability as a core concept in its economic development strategy. The goal is to make Eugene “a nationally known ‘center of excellence’ in this rapidly growing field.”

Some Background on EDPro Weblog
