Here's a good article on how Kalamazoo survived the job cuts at Pfizer. according to the article, "The region's economic development organization launched a marketing campaign to encourage laid-off workers to stay, leveraging a newly constructed business incubator to encourage scientists to start their own companies."
Ann Arbor, facing similar cuts, is looking to learn some lessons. Read more.

Some Background on EDPro Weblog
