Education reforms in the Mahoning Valley

The Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce is playing a central role in pushing high school reforms in the Mahoning Valley. This approach is smart economic development. The chamber is pushing for more streamlined school administration. The second part of the plan involves taking the savings from administrative reform and investing in college tuitions. Smart.

As employers confront a growing skills shortage, regions that develop a reputation for educational innovation will face better prospects than those that largely ignore the challenges. Last week, Indianapolis headed off in the same direction to promote high school innovation.
