One way to build a strong brand in economic development is to come up with some dramatic initiatives. Wisconsin is clearly heading in this direction.
The state is launching the nation's most ambitious program to encourage youth to go to college. The Wisconsin Covenant is directed toward the state's 75,000 eighth graders. Read more. You can learn more about the Wisconsin Covenant here.

The purpose of this weblog is to help economic development professionals -- EDPros -- keep up with the changes sweeping our profession. Strap on your goggles. It's a whole new game. One other point: the prevaling approach (paradigm, if you like) in economic development is shifting from competition to collaboration. There are a lot of reaasons underlying this shift, but here's the important insight: You, your community, and your region will do better by collaborating and sharing information.
