Denver and skill shortages

A workforce analysis in Denver reveals a message that will be increasingly common in other regions: a lack of technical skills. Four forces are converging to create the shortage.

First, the Baby Boom is retiring. Second, the following generations are smaller, so that the entire workforces pool is not growing. Third, skill levels of current jobs keeps increasing. And, fourth, our education system has been dramatically under-performing. Despite decades of reform efforts, skill levels are not increasing.
