Redesigning food systems is a core strategy for developing countries. Ray Goldberg of the Harvard Business School pioneered the strategy of re-designing food systems to promote economic development.

While this approach has not yet caught on in a big way in the U.S., the trend will grow. We will start seeing increasingly sophisticated marketing and logistics models start to emerge.
