In Western Michigan, the regional economic development alliance is looking at promoting an alternative energy cluster.
They're conducting an "deep dive" review of the manufacturing capabilities in the region. Specifically, they have hired a consultant to map the capabilities of regional manufacturers to produce alternative energy components in technologies such as wind, solar, and biofuel. This will be an important report to watch. Read more.
